My First Time Out the Gate…

picture-1

It’s 2 weeks away and I am framing like a crazy woman…with hands that look like Swiss cheese. Piles of paper, archival tape and matting lay about my space and the finished pieces line the wall….like soldiers waiting their orders into battle.

About a month ago I committed myself to participate in my very first art fair as a Fine Art Photographer. A huge mixture of emotions have followed me since I made the date. Am I ready, will anyone buy anything in this suffering economy, but with my whole heart I know it is time. After spending the past 3 years teaching myself photography in all it’s forms…it is time to open that gate and let this horse run. Success or fail, I can honestly say this is the first time in my entire life as a working artist that I know I am doing what I was meant to do. This work is so much a part of who I really am.

So on June 5, I will unveil my work at the Hotel Silken Berlaymont in Brussels. If you are in the area please stop by and say hello!

May 27, 2009 - 07:54 Michael Van der Tol - Failure is not an option - your work will stand on it's own. I wish you the greatest success. You're star continues to rise so take time to look to the sky and dream and make a wish :-)

May 30, 2009 - 12:47 Phil Vaughn - I agree with Michael. All your efforts will speak for themselves because you know your heart and own your vision...and you are true to them. You are a "good heart" that is piloting so much talent. You'll do just fine. There are many of us who are proud of you. Best wishes...
