One of our favorite things about living here in Ladenburg is the abundance and availability of fresh fruit and vegetables. At this time of year, when the berries start to fade and ripening peaches scent the air…apples become the stars of the show.
Yesterday was the first pressing of this season at our local orchard, Obsthof Schuhmann. The Schuhmann orchards are a family run business and everything they produce is made with love.
Nonstop the whole sunny Saturday, by the car loads people arrived excited to purchase the first boxes of apple juice and to witness the process.
With great efficiency, the modern stainless machines mashed, pasteurized, bagged and boxed the golden nectar for each of us to enjoy during the Winter months.
After enjoying some juice I wandered the rows of various fruits for few hours. The Schuhmann family has always made their farm available for me to photograph. I hope you guys will enjoy this simple slideshow images of the big event.
