Come Wander Along with Me...

I wander...it is simply what I do.  Since I was a young girl, my parent's tried everything to keep me close to home, going to such  measures as to buy me goats.  Though I loved my goats, my heart still  wandered.

Growing up in rural New Jersey, I was surrounded by dense woods and long stretches of farm land to fuel my imagination.   I felt at home in the arms of the forest and spent many days laying upon the fragrant mossy soil staring up through the filter of leaves... watching the light dance.  It is these experiences that I work to remember.

In adulthood, I discovered the joy of capturing those precious moments, through my camera's lens.  Though the many years in between my youth and the present, I have enjoyed many wonderful adventures and am currently wandering in another people's land.  For the past 10 years I have had the pleasure of living in Europe and learning to look at life in a very different way.

Through my images and my wanderings, I hope you will enjoy seeing the world around you... in a new way.

So...I invite you to "Come Wander Along with Me..."

Playing Catch Up

Erick-in-Alps3sigsmWow do I ever have to play a bit of catch up here as there has just been so many wonderful things going on around me.  I have to stop and catch my breath.

Fall is festival season here in Germany so each weekend is packed full of sights that entertain all the senses.  From delicious new wines served from large vats along the side of the vineyards to the spontaneous music that seems to fill the air to the colors which become richer with each long lazy day.

Having just returned from a quick visit into the Alps to capture a small piece of their seasonal beauty, I think I will start there and work my way back to the Beginning of September.  When cooler temps started to kiss the air.

First things first, to address the photo above.  My husband who has always been an avid lover of the art of photography has recently purchased his first Toyo 4×5 field camera.  He and this camera seem to be an instant match.  His dedication to the art is so incredibly inspiring and I am not afraid to admit a bit intimidating.  He is a natural.  From researching about the cameras and lens to the processing of the film.  The work he is producing leaves me in awe.  I now see that the choice for a name for the business “Boston Thek Imagery” could not have been more perfect.

I wait in anticipation for the images he and that camera created this past weekend while we hiked in the Alps….perhaps he will allow me to share some with you here.
