Temperatures are reaching the high 90′s daily which is forcing my canine muse and I to head out earlier and earlier each day.

Being a lover of a good nights rest you would think I might find this disruption to my sleep inconvenient but honestly…I am grateful for the world that owning a dog has shown me.

I call it “Dog Hour”…those brief few minutes, in the early morning light before the sun’s intensity starts to be unbearable. All the dogs and their two legged companions leave the comfort of their beds and head in to the fields and forests.

Honestly I have gotten some truly amazing images in the 2 weeks we have been living this way. That beautiful golden morning light with it’s long shadows and finger like rays touching the yellowing fields.

The rest of the day may be a bit unbearable…but in those early morning and just as the sunsets…are pure magic.

Six years ago he came into my life and turned in wonderfully upside down. I never before knew the joy of the moment when your dog falls into sync along side you as you walk in a beautiful landscape. How could I ever have enjoyed wandering before with out his presence by my side.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank him for all he has taught me.

Clover my constant companion and comic relief was in rare form due to the copious amounts of puddles and cooler temperatures. He was racing about me while I attempted to capture him smiling and scooting by.
There is truly nothing more enjoyable then and happy wet puppy.

This beautiful face lives down the street from us and every day Clover races to stand whining at her gate….wishing her to come racing out to greet him.

She is one of those “playing hard to get girls” who normally will wait for us to turn our backs only THEN will she race to the gate in full attack mode only to melt into “pet me” mush upon seeing us.

As much as Clover adores her…I fear, this pretty lady only had eyes for me.
